Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty*
Strong coverage for your roofing system.

Protect your investment
Protecting your non-residential structure** from the elements is just as important as protecting your home. A roofing system consists of many components — all critical to maintaining a healthy roof. With the Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt, LLC (“Owens Corning”) Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty,* every Owens Corning® component — not just the shingles — of your Total Protection Roofing System®^ is covered by an extended warranty, including a 10-year warranty* on workmanship coverage. It’s the smart way to help ensure that your structure is protected for years to come.

Peace of mind
The Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty* has up to a 20-year “non-prorated” period for both material defects and the labor to repair or replace them, whereas many standard warranties have a 5-year non-prorated warranty period. With the Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty,* you can rest easy knowing you have this extra coverage for a longer period of time. In addition, you will receive 10 years of workmanship protection. Meaning, if your roof is found to have an application error, Owens Corning Roofing will arrange to have it repaired, with labor, materials, tear-off and disposal costs all covered. Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt, LLC, stands behind your roof for years to come.

Coverage
The Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty* provides coverage for both material defects and the labor to repair or replace them, including tear-off and disposal. Additionally, every Owens Corning® roofing component, except the electrical components of the VentSure® Solar Attic Exhaust Fan, and VentSure® off-ridge exhaust vents, take on the warranty of the shingle installed, in many cases, extending their warranty period. The Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty* does not cover non-Owens Corning® roofing components such as flashing, fasteners or wood decking.

One-time transfer*
Whether you expect to own the structure for years to come or plan to sell, the Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty is transferable,* making it an excellent investment. If you’re planning to sell, this warranty may provide a highly desirable benefit to potential buyers.

Requirements
To be eligible for the Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty,* you must purchase and install Owens Corning® shingles and at least four of the following
Owens Corning® roofing components (one product from each category where applicable):
• WeatherLock® Self-Sealing Ice & Water Barrier products
• Owens Corning® Underlayment products: FIBERGLAS™ Reinforced Felt, ProArmor® Synthetic Roof Underlayment or Deck Defense® High Performance Roof Underlayment
• Owens Corning® Starter Shingle products
• Owens Corning® VentSure® Ventilation products: If a VentSure® product is used it must be part of a balanced air ventilation system consisting of both functional intake and exhaust ventilation products. If a VentSure® intake vent AND VentSure® exhaust vent are both used, this will count as one of the four requirements previously mentioned.
• Owens Corning® Hip & Ridge Shingles
In addition, you must meet the following requirements:
• An Owens Corning Roofing Preferred or Platinum Preferred Contractor must install your roofing system and adhere to local building codes.
• Your roofing system must be installed over a clean roof deck with all existing roofing material and debris removed.*
• You must use a No. 15 or No. 30 standard asphalt-saturated felt on the deck as a minimum. However, using the Owens Corning® FIBERGLAS™ Reinforced Felt, Owens Corning® ProArmor® Synthetic Roof Underlayment or Owens Corning® Deck Defense® Underlayment will all satisfy this requirement and count as one of the above four Owens Corning® roofing component requirements.
This warranty must be registered by you or the Owens Corning
Roofing Platinum Preferred or Preferred Contractor with Owens Corning within 60 days of the installation.
